I got this book for free and started it a couple days ago and picked up again last night and now it's late morning having just finished it. I immediately looked for the sequel but unfortunately it is either not published yet or not on Amazon. The characters are just basically starting to develop but they are interesting. The story is based around twin brothers one being almost too good and the other being kind of selfish. You would think losing your only remaining parent would drive them together but that is not the case in this story. It made we wonder if the author had a bully for a brother. I enjoy a good versus evil story and this seems to be one of them but there are definitely some gray areas. Both sides seemed like they have been wronged at one time or another and that makes the story more believable. In short I recommend this book to any readers but once you finish you feel like you are just beginning the story and will have to wait a bit to find out what comes next. But all in all it's a pretty cool start.Product details

I'm gonna have to ponder on this one for a bit...
Alright, I've finished pondering and I guess waiting any longer is really not going to change my views the least little bit. There is no question this is fantasy? Or is there? The writing is sharp, very well thought out, especially in the authors mind. There is simply sooo much information packed into this relatively short (considering the amount of characters introduced) book. Quite obviously this is to become a series of what I will determine many books. I say this again because of the amount of characters introduced. Unfortunately I cannot expand on that because it would be a major spoiler which I do not like to do.
So many characters. So many references to what appears to be actual people yet with a twist, but this is fantasy so one must make their own judgement on this. Again, to say any more than that- spoiler...
I did become quite confused on many occasions how some of the choices of the combination of different characters from the different "genres" both in my opinion, real life and fantasy- yet how they could possibly all show up within the same story realm coming from such different realms to begin with.
This is probably just as confusing as I became while reading his accounts of mythology, real life, fantasy, history, good versus evil etc... The list goes on. The mix is somewhat overwhelming.
I found that I had to re-read some things again and again simply to try and figure out how some of these characters were even intended to be in the same story, yet they were.
Now having said all of that, I will be very curious as to how this all plays out in the next book?
For those that enjoy the fantasy genre, well this is nothing but, and then some.
Personally I will be interested to know what happens next.
After reading the entire Harry Potter series, and rummaging through several popular fantasy authors like Neil Gaiman, George R.R. Martin, and Tolkien, I was looking for something new and fresh. There are so many various fantasy novels I had no idea where to start. That is, until I stumbled upon this diamond just waiting to be discovered. I noticed it was just released, and it seemed like the definition of untapped potential so I gave it a chance. For some novels, that's all it takes is a chance at discovery. I dove head first into this novel and never looked back. I thought it might take a week or so to read, but I found myself completely unable to put this book down. It was one of those rare novels that kept me up to all hours of the night. Finishing the next chapter was more important than sleep, and that is where you know you found something special.
Ultimately, this book has it all for any fantasy fan. If you love Harry Potter and Neil Gaiman, then give this one a chance. I never felt strongly enough about a novel to take the time to write a review, but this was the first I felt deserved it. It's fresh, its the next plateau for the fantasy genre, and hopefully the origin of an incredible series to come. The characters are brilliant and well thought out, and the story compliments them perfectly. If you want the next great fantasy series before it becomes the next Game of Thrones or Harry Potter, read this now because it won't be long before this takes off into the stratosphere of great fantasy novels.
A book you have to read.
It will keep you on your toes, and it's never who you think it is. Can't wait for the next book.
I really stepped out of my comfort zone on this genre of book after being recommended to by a friend. From the very start of the book I knew this would be an interesting read. Getting to know and discover all of the creative characters kept me coming back to read more. Very well written and thoroughly enjoyable. Can't wait to hear more from this author.
I loved this book! As a big Harry Potter and Game of Thrones fan I saw elements of each in this book. If you like those type of stories or just fantasy and magic in general do no hesitate to pick this book up as you will fly through it and eagerly anticipate the next book in the series! I really hope this book catches on to encourage the author to keep it going and continue producing quality stories and drive the imagination and immerse you in an incredible world.
